Happy Summer Solstice from Google & Murakami

When Google first started doing creative variations of their logo, I always found myself looking forward to the next one.  However, I'd have to say that as the years went by, I found myself becoming more and more disappointed with the logo integrations.

Yesterday, was a different story.  To celebrate summer solstice, Google mashed up its logo with Takashi Murakami's art.  I once travelled 400+ miles to see a Murakami exhibit so I was naturally enthused to find that Google did Murakami justice by doing an excellent job on the logo integration.  Tech + art!  What more can a girl ask for?  

Expo Vendor: IL*MOSTRO

We love Frances' robot banks.  When we saw them on Etsy we HAD to have them at the expo.  Aside from the fantastic geeky and nerdy designs she has available on her online shop, she also does custom orders.  These banks make really fun, personal gifts.  Perfect for grads and dads!

For the expo, Frances has graciously agreed to make a special Seattle bank as a contest prize.

Part & Parcel & Pink!

Each month in 2011 (as part of their Behind the Curtain section on their site), Kate Spade will be commissioning a short film based on a color.  January's color is red so it follows accordingly that February's is pink!  Watch the stop motion short film by Part & Parcel here.
